Sim ZEMING Kristie (b. 1993) is a Singaporean artist from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA).
Identity, decadence, isolation and other existential juxtapositions are recurring themes in her works, and they are usually executed in Chinese ink. Greatly inspired by the spirit of German Romanticism, her works aim to portray an ever-changing psychological portrait of decaying reality that addresses the past, the present and the future. She was a winning recipient of the Ink/Watercolour Category Harper’s Bazaar Inaugural Art Prize in 2015, and was also awarded the Ngee Ann Kongsi Merit Award. In 2016, she actively participated in artist residencies in Berlin and Beijing. She is currently working on archiving an anthology of reflections and letters from art practitioners in Singapore.
