Sim ZEMING Kristie (b. 1993) is a Singaporean artist from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA).
Identity, decadence, isolation and existential juxtapositions are recurring themes in her works, and they are usually executed in Chinese ink. She has been greatly inspired by the spirit of German Romanticism. Her works aim to portray an ever-changing psychological portrait of decaying reality. She was a winning recipient of the Ink/Watercolour Category Harper’s Bazaar Inaugural Art Prize in 2015, and was also awarded the Ngee Ann Kongsi Merit Award. In 2016, she actively participated in artist residencies in Berlin and Beijing. She is also currently working on a contributor-based magazine, a bi-annual anthology of reflections from creatives across a range of disciplines.
In her spare time, she enjoys conducting art workshops and learning new languages.
